Caring for Carers: Covid and Beyond

We were proud to welcome more than 100 people from Commonwealth, State and local government, carer professionals, and our Carer Gateway partners – Alfred Health, Ballarat Health Services, Barwon Health, Bendigo Health Care Group, FamilyCare "Helping families find solutions", Uniting Vic.Tas and Merri Carer Services – at our Caring for Carers: Covid and Beyond webinar today.

Thanks to Senator Anne Ruston, Minister for Families and Social Services, for her message as we commemorated the first year of Carer Gateway in Victoria – launched during a pandemic! Senator Ruston thanked Carer Gateway teams for rising to the challenges and delivering more than 170,000 hours of respite care, extending operating hours, and supporting more than 7,800 carers.

We were also privileged to hear Kellie King, carer to her grandson, daughter and parents, share her carer journey and how the “amazing group of people” at Carer Gateway helped her manage through difficult times.
