We were delighted to welcome ten students to complete their final year work placements over recent months.
The placements give students opportunities to build on their learning and gain real-life professional experience.
Merri Health’s placement program offers students positions in a range of areas including aged care, podiatry, nursing, speech pathology, counselling, elder abuse prevention, social work, health promotion, communications, prevention and chronic illness care. Students work with other departments on current projects as well as meet new people and form connections for the future.
Work undertaken by students this year includes: age care communications research, developing and implementing projects, visiting schools, contacting clients, developing tools to engage with the community, promoting our services; and working with other organisations and partners
We’re proud to work in partnership with La Trobe, Deakin University and The Australian College of Applied Professions to support the next generation of health professionals!
