Merri Health's Healthy Mind Hub presents Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Expressions of interest and now being accepted for a free eight week online course for people experiencing low-intensity mental health symptoms.
Through research, mindfulness-based stress reduction courses have been found to:
- reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety
- lastingly support recovery from illness
- prevent depression relapse and improve relationships
- lead to life-satisfaction and a sense of wellbeing and resilience
The course involves learning mindfulness practices which can be integrated into everyday life, as well as learning how stress responses can impact us and how to intercept them.
When: Tuesdays 2:30pm-5pm (from 22 September, 2020). Or Wednesdays 10am-12:3pm (from 22 September, 2020).
Where: Your home, joining online via Starleaf platform. You will need a computer or tablet and an adequate internet connection.

Participants are encouraged to dedicate approximately one hour per day of home practice in order to experience maximum benefit from participation. Course materials to support home practice are provided, along with all equipment used in class.
Eligible applicants will be contacted for a pre-admission interview.
You are encouraged to attend all sessions if possible, as each weekly session is graduated with a different theme. It is necessary to attend the first session in order to attend the course.
