Merri Health clients and staff will benefit from more secure facilities across the organisation after Merri successfully received a $250,000 Victorian government grant.
The 2023-24 Metropolitan Health Infrastructure Fund (MHIF) grant funding will go towards security enhancements including upgrading our security access system at sites, implementation of CCTV in line with other health agencies and a new automatic gate at Bell Street.
Work has begun at the Chifley Drive, Merri Central & Moreland Road sites which have the new security access systems installed. The remainder of the works will take place over the next 12 months and include our four main clinical sites, Brunswick, Bell Street, Glenroy & Fawkner.
The 2023-24 MHIF grants focus on assisting health services with Regulatory & Compliance, and Quality & Safety upgrades. Thanks to the 2023-24 Metropolitan Health Infrastructure Fund (MHIF), we can continue to deliver world class healthcare with higher security for our communities.
Merri Health was one of only 27 health organisations across the state to share in the $40 million 2023-24 MHIF grants. This follows a MHIF funded grant of $661,000 Merri health received in 2022.
