There was no time for rest for the Merri Health – Carer Gateway team in October! After six weeks of intense preparation to deliver the highly successful and fun-filled Carer Gateway Family Day event on October 12, the team jumped straight into supporting Down Syndrome Victoria’s (DSV) largest event of the year - StepUP!
Having barely recovered from all the excitement of Carers Week, the Merri Health Carer Gateway team proudly brought their A-Game; an unyielding level of enthusiasm, warm smiles and in one instance… a bear suit! The day involved a 3.5km walk around Princes Park, live music and a market stall bonanza – all to celebrate the contributions people with Down syndrome make to our communities.

Since the inception of the partnership with DSV in August, StepUp presented an amazing opportunity for both organisations, to demonstrate our shared values and a collective ability, to collaborate effectively towards a common purpose: caring for people.
