Did you know that over 10% of Australians are carers? They provide essential yet unrecognised support to family members or friends with disabilities, medical conditions or those frail due to age.
With little time for rest and relaxation, many carers experience higher levels of stress and burnout. As part of National Carers Week (October 13 – 19), Merri Health and Carer Gateway hosted a Family Day event at Grazeland, offering Victorian carers a well-deserved break to connect and enjoy themselves.
It was an incredible afternoon filled with multicultural dance performances, high-flying stilt walkers, magicians, live music and endless food stalls. Carers are the unsung heroes of our community, and it was truly special to have the opportunity to honour their dedication and hard work.
