What a way to cap off Carers Week!
Yesterday, over 100 carers gathered at the Casa D'Abruzzo in Epping for a very special Carers Week Luncheon.
The annual luncheon is the pinnacle of our National Carers Week at Merri Health, helping bring together carers from all over Melbourne’s Northern and Western suburbs for an unforgettable day of food and activities.
The yearly event is designed to honour the incredible work of unpaid carers in Victoria, and to give carers their own day of their own pampering and celebration.
Attendees were invited to experience a number of the fun activities and stalls planned. These included professional massage, tea-leaf making, tarot card reading and a party photobooth for taking home memories in the form of polaroids.
The day culminated in a fabulous three-course meal, complemented by speeches from leaders in the Carer Services team. Lucky raffle winners also received vouchers generously donated by Coles, Woolworths, Big W, and Crystal Infusions.
Feedback from the day was incredibly positive, with many carers showing gratitude for the time and effort that had gone into making the luncheon a successful day.
The day is a great chance for carers to take a break from their responsibilities and connect with others who share similar caring roles. It was great to see many carers making new friends and staying back to discuss their experiences with their counterparts.
The Carers Week Luncheon is an important showcase for Merri Health’s Carer Services, highlighting the dedication to our carers and the services that Carer Gateway has to offer. We're already counting down to next year's luncheon!
